يعتبر المشروع أكبر مشروع من نوعه على مستوى العالم حيث أنه يوّلد 2750 ميغاوات من الكهرباء وتحلية المياه بسعة 800 ألف متر مكعب باليوم، و بلغت تكلفة المشروع حوالي 12.6 مليار ريال سعودي
The Project is the World's largest power and desalination plant. the plant provides 2,743.8 Megawatts of power to the Saudi Grid and 800,000 cubic meters per day of desalinated water to the Saudi water infrastructure.
The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor was a consortium of three companies led by General Electric International Inc. (GE) consortium includes Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Societe Internationale de Dessalement (SIDEM) JWAP also employed Tractebel Engineering as the Owner's Engineer (OE).
The Operations & Maintenance Contractor, JOML is a venture of GDF Suez and Nomac.
