In the year of 1935, Sheik Abdul-Gader Salim Bashanfer established his company and he is from a long-line of well-known family businessmen in Yemen.
He established the Bashanfer Trading Co. as a sole proprietorship in the city of Dire Dawa in the Harrar Region of Ethiopia.
He specialized in exporting the coffee beans to Yemen and Saudi Arabia. In the year of 1966, he decided to move to the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where he established the Alkhair General Trading Office as a sole proprietorship. In 2000, the business was changed to Alkhair Trading Office Company, Ltd.
